Interior of synagogue - please wait for the image to load ...
In 1862 the synagogue was renovated. The women's gallery was enlarged, and the chairs in the men's section were replaced by benches.

Although the synagogue interior was said to have been modelled after the example of the main synagogue in Stuttgart, this photograph gives the impression of a rather modest design.

When the synagogue was closed down in 1900, some of its lustres and benches were donated to the Protestant village church. The Tables of the Covenant which adorned the Torah shrine are preserved in the city museum of Goeppingen.

The cattle dealer and innkeeper Simon Faist Rosenheim and his wife donated this Torah curtain in 1804 - most probably on the occasion of the consecration of the synagogue.

The ornamental border on the bottom of this page is all that remains of another torah curtain from Jebenhausen's synagogue, probably from 1862 or later.

The synagogue building was torn down in 1905.
