Jonathan Aron Regensburger
6 April 1780 - 14 April 1854
Jonathan, a butcher, was a well-respected
man. From 1828 he served as head of the Jewish community - despite the
reservations of state authorities who would have preferred to see someone
less traditional in his place.
Jonathan had married Voegele Loebstein.
They had seven children and managed to arrange agreeable marriages for
all of them.
He was buried next to his sister-in-law,
Miriam
Loebstein.
